My good good good good friend who's just so happen is a guy asked me to go to on a kinda date with him.I like him alot... and i mean alot. And i think he likes me but when ever he trys to get close to me i push away. Is there anyway i can't make this fear of intimacy go away or am i doomed to grow old and and alone with millons of cats as my companions?

Dont fight ur feelings.,,if u feel a certain way its for a reason...Or maybe its something that happened that u havent dealt with. If thats the case dont force anything just to make others like u, or happy,,cause u matter.

STOP. Don't jump to conclusions. Face yourself first and find your problem. Maybe somthing happened to you a long time ago has made you overprotectove of yourself. When looking for the root of the problem try looking at your parents. Did your dad do anything to you or your mom. Did your mom ever act a certain way. whatever it is I want you to think about it carefully. "God has not given me the spirit of fear, but of power, LOVE, and a sound mind. This means that you have power to do anyhing you need to do. all you need is faith. You were born with the natural ability to LOVE. and you a sound mind is a clear head. you know right from wrong. You should know the truth by the way it feels. Follow your heart and figure out the root of your problem. Try talking to a friend a close friend. And as for being intimate. you may just not be ready to get close to anyone yet. As a female take your time and let no one rush you. and if they do don't let them. You have control over your life. how you act and what you say dictates what people think of you.

Have you ever gotten intimate before?, Or maybe something happend to you awhile ago and it still puts an effect on you. When you see that hes getting close to you, just relax, and take your time. Maybe one day you should try and make the first move. You can start with a kiss on the cheek and then work your way up to his lips. Go slow and before you know it, you will be comfortable.You have to feel in your skin when you are next to him. So when ever you go out make sure you feel your best, know you look good. If this doesnt help, maybe you just arent ready to go to the intimate level with him just yet since you guys have been good friends. However I really think that the next time you are with him, and you start cuddling, be the one to go for that first kiss.

Read the book "Mars and Venus on a date". Written by John Gray, author of "Men are from Mars;Women are from Venus". I found it to be very helpful in explaining a lot of misunderstandings between men and women. But to try to answer your question, one thing it really pushes is to NOT get intimate prematurely or you will just sabotage your chances of your friendship lasting or a more intimate relationship developing.

Ya know it sounds to me that you are shy. I know cause I used to be very shy. It's not that you dont want the closeness it's that you dont know what to do and how to react to it. You just have to go with your instincts and your feelings. Don't fight it. Don't hold back. Don't miss out on a chance to be happy. Taking the first step is the hardest, but it will only get easier. you need to relax. enjoy yourself. I'm sure you don't want to lose him as a friend if the relationship doesn't work out so keep it cool. Have fun with him and see what happens. You are not going to grow to be the cat lady at the end of the street....be happy and enjoy life and your friend.

Perhaps you have a fear of getting pregnant, and being like your mother and that is preventing you from letting yourself be intimate with your boyfriend.
You should try and talk with a counselor or therapist about your fears.

Some people in this world are not clingy people and like their space. I don't think you have a problem with intimacy, you just enjoy your private space and don't want anyone crossing into it unless you give them permission.
