No, i dont think you need a hs diploma except for the job (nursing, doctors, lawyers, ect) to get a decent paying job. i work at the court house in my home town and i never graduated highschool, i also have my own child care business.and .i was able to get a child care degree at a tech school...and i just turned 24.

my idea of life is to live it to the fullest and do what you want in reason

The accurate answer to the way you worded your question is No.
You need air to breathe, food to eat, shelter during bad weather, the ability to stay warm or cool off as the need arises and that's it.

The answer the question I think you meant to ask: "Why do I need (or want) a High School diploma" would be as follows:

Only if you want to work for a corporation or industry. A diploma is not just about what you learned in school. It is about how well you deal with adversity. This is especially true of college degrees more so than High School. A High School diploma shows that you could overcome the problems of growing up. The curriculum isn't that tough and it is all just general knowledge. If you can't make it through that... you don't have much hope of making it through the day to day demands of a high responsibility job. This is the general rule. There are always exceptions of course and you may be one of them. If you can learn specialized knowledge either through technical school or hands on experience, and you can sucessfully market yourself, you can earn a good living. If not, you end up having to learn the standard verbage for the types of careers that are available to you without the diploma: "You want fries with that?"

Yes. Because people with degrees (HS, college, graduate, etc...)will make more money over time. In about 10 years you'll still be making 45K while others will have long supassed you. In about 2 years most will have doubled that amount because believe it or not employers look at degrees. Unless you have a stroke of genius and start a profitable business or learn to invest and save your money very wisely you're doomed to that income bracket forever. Degrees and credentials are also good for networking. Most jobs are taken by the person with the most connections. Having high profile connects gives them an advantage over you...

Good Luck and if all esle fails go to the music industry, it's oobvious you need no talent now...i.e Cassie, Dem Franchize Boys, Ashlee Simpson, Paris Hilton, etc...

This is common occurrence for almost anybody right out of school.
the problems arise when, especially under someone else's authority, you lose your job. You'll get other offers, but the same thing can happen again, with just as good a competition.
The REAL deal is that it weighs on your mind now, it gets heavier as time goes on. Why not get your GED??? it will give you an amazing sense of accomplishment as the years go by, and you'll be glad you did. One less thing to think about. A man can make millions and millions, but still has to live with his own conscious

No, you don't "need" a High School Diploma. However, you don't "need" a million dollar house either. You are one of the lucky few who manage to be successful without a formal education. You are the exception to the rule. The higher the education level you have, the more opportunites you will have to get the things you want in life. In this respect the amount of education you "need" is dictated by what you want to get out of life. Don't get me wrong, education alone won't get you where you want to go. There is still an awful lot to be said for good old-fashioned hard work. To be successful, work hard in your education and your profession. To be happy, work hard to achieve your dreams.

A High School Diploma everyone should have, and yet very little people have. I have a High School Diploma and I work for my families Paving Company, I own it because I'm the only one with a High School Education.

I think you are just one of the lucky few. Most people not only need a high school diploma, but also a college degree.

you are probably really lucky, but most people without a high school diploma can get only bad jobs. Education is not only about getting better jobs, It is about becoming a better person.

You are definitely the exception rather than the rule. Most people who don't have a high school diploma are stuck (and I do mean stuck) in minimum wage jobs. I'd like to know what it is you do.

Do not believe the first statement unless you want to work fast food or already have a college degree. Yes you can become a dr. with a GED but the road is a lot more difficult.
