grape jelly and ketchup makes a pretty good sauce too, i think it was a Polynesian friend that told me about that one. i like it with meat balls or those little smokie weiners myself...

Yes, But instead of grape jelly, I reccomend maple syrup. It is a flavor that is closely linked with Ham and beans. It will really do wonders in your crock pot as well. if you want it to be evenly distributed, heat it up in the microwave before you add it so the consistancy will mix well.

Equal parts grape jelly and ketchup actually makes a great "sweet" BBQ sauce. You put them in the crock pot with those little cocktail wieners and add some toothpicks and party guests and you're off! You can also use equal parts ketchup and maple syrup for a BBQ sauce base.

Absolutely. The jelly will melt as it warms up, so you can just stir it in. Start by adding a little jelly at a time & then you'll need to taste the mixture to make sure you don't add too much.

Yeah, you can. You can put anything in there that you want, but I have heard of the grape jelly thing to sweeten it up.

Yes, and it sounds like it would be an interesting flavor, but most people who want to sweeten beans do it with honey or maple syrup.

Yes but wait for the beans to become warm and I highly recommend blackberry jam. It is truly the nectar of the gods!
