My sister works from home doing customer service for different companies. Like taking phone calls for "Flowers to go". You have to have DSL internet & find a reliable ad. She makes good money doing so, plus she gets free tickets to theme parks and such .

You have to sacrifice, and I don't mean by food, shelter, water, etc.............material things, and be there for your family as they will learn to be there for you and each other. To me, it builds the strongest family unit, and a great foundation for their lives!! I see it happening already and it isn't easy. Though life is never easy is it? I as a Mom, would rather know that we sacrificed material things and vacations, etc so that we could have me home. Don't let people, society pressure you into thinking you have to have it all and then some!!! Have there been days I wish I was out of the home and to work full-time, absolutely! I wouldn't be human if I didn't feel that however again, it is a sacrifice you make for the love of yourself and your family!!! Teenagers also need you just as much emotionally, etc if not more so than younger ones. They are tumultuous times, and to have the consistency of Mom home, there for them, well is there a price to put on that????? To me, it puts things in perspective!!!

Well sometimes the cost of daycare out exceeds the take home pay of working full time. Why work when there is no reward :) I stayed home with my two kids when I was married to my x because I was in a town where you were lucky to make over minimum wage and I wouldn't have brought home anything so I didn't go to work.

Well, Zoe... I had two children and decided to return to school for my nursing degree. My children and husband supported me and I graduated and returned to work. We decided to have a third child and I continued to work. Our children are now all school age and we just had our 4th child. We have decided to enjoy the time home, I'm a full-time Domestic Engineer..if you will! He is 7 months old and we spend our days together....I truly see a difference in his development and the bond is amazing. We do struggle with our finances..but its worth giving up those costly items to spend these precious years with our baby boy! We love you baby Abel!!!!

yes - with the proper budgeting and discipline. plus, it costs a lot to send your child to daycare, especially for infants. if it costs more to send him to daycare than for you to stay home, by all means, stay home.
my husband and i have it worked out a different way. i work days and he works nights....we hardly see each other enough, but at least i can rest assured that my 5-month old baby and my older kids (6 and 14 year old) are in good hands while i'm off at work. not to say that they aren't in good hands if they are in daycare, but i just feel more confident about them staying with someone closely related to them (my opinion)
