Yes!

Third St. Promenade. Couple of blocks away from the ocean.

Main St. Santa Monica about half a mile south.

Venice Beach-Just south of Santa Monica Main Street. Take the bus on Ocean for a couple of bucks and enjoy the day or walk along the beach on the speedway/bike path to Venice about a mile and a half.

Stay out of Palisades Park above the ocean on the cliff above. Santa Monica is a haven for derelicts. They are all there. It's a shame, but there it is.

Take the bus down Wilshire Blvd which ends at Ocean where the Pier is. You can go for a couple of bucks through Santa Monica to Brentwood, to Westwood...UCLA...to Beverly Hills to the L.A. County Museum of Art and La Brea Tar pits with the prehistoric animals...all the way to downtown. The bus is a no brainer.

Have fun!
