Try an updated Mohawk. None of the Mr. T stuff. The new hot styles are something of an urban mohawk. Your parents are not going to be easy to convince, but I'm sure they have it all pictured wrong. Show them some styles, and offer for them to go to the hairdresser with you.

You can always start out with a faux-hawk if you are too young and your parents won't let you have a mohawk. But, try just telling them that it's "just hair" and it will grow out eventually. ;]
I would suggest Paul Mitchell lab paste or lab glue to get it to stand straight up and messy.

I think that your parents think that when people see you with this hair style, they think people will judge you. They probabaly think that you won't get a proper job and make a life for yourself if you have your hair like this. I wouldn't do something behind their backs, and have them mad, I'd wait until ya turn 18

if you are too young,maybe they are sparing the crap others might give you. on the other hand, i sproted a mohawk for 10 years and I LOVED IT!!!! PAUL MITCHEL freeze spray is what i would use. and i always shaved the sides as smooth as a baby's bum.

go to a salon and ask a stylist, they will tell you what of the brand they support would work best. andgood luck, girls with real mohawks are usually hot
