or a phatologist?
is there any special Hospital for this in Manhattan, NY?

I've had one of those. A pilonidal abcess has nothing to do with your skin, so no need for a dermatologist. When I had mine, my GP recommended a surgeon, who opened up the skin to help the abcess clear.

I'm certain you didn't diagnose this condition yourself; why didn't the doctor who did diagnose you refer you to someone?

Either way, pilonidal abcesses do not go away without surgery.

a general surgeon may help u directly or he may refer u to the concerned expert.
