I'm mad at my dad because he has been in a bad mood ever since fathers day. He is allowed to be upset but does he have to make my mom and i unhappy too? Please give me advice to help me sort this out.

You need toa ask your self why is he in a bad mood? Why is he upset? You need to answer that question first. If he doesnt want to share his reason, then you must be the first to tell him that you are not happy that he is in a bad mood and it is bringing you down. There might be some kind of hurt buried inside your dads soul and trying to expose it could be worse. Just be careful and assure him that you are concerned and you miss the happy guy that you know. Good luck!

oh gosh. listen here. dont let another day go by with your dad upset. sit down with him and talk to him. tell him how you feel with him upset around the house.
i had a great relationship with my dad. years ago. but ever since i got married and changed my opinion and ideas about life, he never was the same. he wanted me to listen to him and do what he thought was right and not what my husband said.
i told him i got married for a reason and that is to be with someone who loves me and if im not going to listen to my husband then what relationship do i have? so since then he hasnt been the same around me.
i dont like it this way. i let too much time pass and now its weird being around him at times. i wish i would of talked about this then. i dont think its too late. but its harder to talk about it and fix it.
so you should talk about this with your dad. dont let another day go by. you need your father in your life. and support him while he is in this mood. be by his side and comfort him. find out why he is upset.
good luck.

Talk it out.

I have the same problem - my Dad is so closed up and aloof at times. He once said he's not very good at expressing himself and talking about feelings.

You're conversations might initially started out pretty one-sided: you talking and him listening. Don't worry. Keep at it, and he'll warm up to you.
