I'll give you my answer since i have a similar problem. Studied language in uni, can never use it cause there's no way to meet friends frm that country. What i do, is just keep studying vocab, reviewing my books, reading outloud, making fun projects like I'm trying to make recordings that would sound like a news show with a panel of guests. Write essays, and recently try helping a foreigner with language. put ads, or find ads from foreigners needing help. I found someone that is not from the country where the language i studied is used.. but hopefully someday i'll find someone.
Like you, i seem to be losing it,, but it's not lost yet so i can regain it if i do something on time.

Visit french-speaking friends or relatives, or stay in France or Montreal for a while if you have the means. Otherwise, watch lots of french movies, read magazines, listen to radio, etc. Just immerse yourself whenever possible. I taught myself Spanish and French by this method. If you don't use it you will forget it...I forgot all the German I ever learned because I don't know anyone to practice with. But I get plenty of mileage out of Spanish, here in Colorado. My French is a little rusty.

Communicate regularly with people who speak the language. It'll get even better if you could visit a french speaking country for a short holiday for a while. get alot of tapes and french books , this will improve your grammar and knowledge of french verbs and conjugations. in other words...eat, sleep, talk and live french.
Good luck!

You could always get satellite and watch French soap operas. I don't know if they even have those, but when I took Spanish in high school, the teacher recommended that we watch 1 hour of Spanish channels a day.

If you are unable to have conversations with French speakers in your ares, perhaps try watching French movies with English subtitles..
I live in Canada, where we have bilingual TV programming and I will often practice my French watching TV, with handy English subtitiles if I get confused - it works!
