Oil is by far better, but you have to choose the right kind. Vegetable oil is better than butter, but still has some trans fat in it. You really need to use canola or olive oil in cooking.

Olive oil is the best, then any type of vegetable or canola oil. Butter is second worst to cook with, even though it tastes good.

well with butter you have the taste...but it burns very easily and with olive oil it wont burn and healthier but it has no taste....some professional cooks use equal amount of both...this way with the olive oil it wont burn but yet you get the flavor with the butter
