For me it is absolutely clear that it is just a sort of colonial war sponsored and promoted by oil companies, but every American I have to deal with about this problem bevave like braiwashed fan.

Most of our foreign oil comes from canada not the Middle East it doesn't really matter. We would have been out by now if it was oil and we wouldn't have used all the oil we have used so far to fight the war. Duh.

It's clear that Sadaam was saving Iraq, one dead dissenter at a time, a million times over. Americans are only there eating babies and filling their canteens with oil (despite reapeated declarations by Bush that the oil and all natural resources belong to the people of Iraq). And you, highly educated America hater, are only drinking as much Kool-aid as you think necessary to get you the attention of much needed sex partners. I know your cheap champagne is still on ice waiting for the big withdrawal or the next 9/11, but don't you think you could take responsibility for your own survival once in a while and stop relying on the US Marines? I don't think you could, coward.

No the armed forced are doing as they are told and good on them for that. The problem is that the American people are confused by the word war. We are not at war with Iraq, the war ended when Bush said mission accomplished on that air craft carrier. We are at occupation or we are occupying someones country. If invaders came to the US I would be an insurgent, most of us would. You can not win occupations only back away. Wars we can win and the average Joe doesn't`t like to loose wars so if we are pounded with the WAR in Iraq instead of the OCCUPATION of Iraq we believe it is a war. Yes their is a war in the middle east, the war on terror but it is a war like the war on drugs or the war on poverty. Our dollar has dropped 13% since `02 because of all the money we owe. China could invade a country near them and all they have to do to stop us is to pull the notes we owe, bye bye economy. I think we need to look at this terrorism more like police work and have teams of spooks and work other countries because terror is in allot of other countries. I would of voted to take North Korea out before Saddam, N Korea is much closer

I think in the short term, American occupation of Iraq has made things much worse, however, I do think in the long term, Iraq will be better off, but only if the government in Iraq has the strength to govern without militants taking over. That being said, America did not have justification to invade Iraq, and the war never should have happened.

Am a US citizen. I do not agree with the war but I DO agree that you can't go into a country, as we did, and just because Saddam is out of the picture, just leave. That would hurt them more than anything. They are in the middle of major changes and it's still very very dangerous. I am not brainwashed. I do not agree with our pesident - yet, I am proud that I am able to speak my mind because of being an American. You'd be surprised how much our president has lost respect in our country. If you hear him or our administration speak, it is not necessarily the views of the people.

Well, let's just say we didn't go over there. Apparently, we just found weapons of mass destruction there yesterday. So if we didn't go over there, then they might have been used to kill even more people. So who knows if it would have been better not to go at all than do what we are doing right now. I support the war because the soldiers believe what they are doing over there is good. We will never leave that country, we will always be there.

I don' t know what do you think? Women are now able to vote, women and young girls no longer have to fear getting taken from the streets and repeatedly raped by Qusay and Uday and their buddies, females are now allowed to have education and people all over Iraq are starting businesses, are now able to access other news besides Saddam 'state'run programming. They are more safe than ever, yeah I know there are insurgents making their lives miserable but consider the amount of people dying per month from violence there now versus when Saddam was killing them by the hundreds for reasons as small as they looked at him funny. Men and women are also now allowed to speak their minds, they are still reluctant to but that comes from decades of fear and mental abuse and conditioning. Iraq's sewer and electrical system even though its being attacked daily by insurgents is still 90% better than it was during Saddam's regime...all in all their lives are better not perfect but better.....nah I guess you're right the US really isn't doing any good there.

I don't belive the American army is saving Iraq, Iraq has been violent like this for centruies and in utter cauios no one can change that but Mister Bush does he needs a reality check so there is no use for our troops to be there but if we leave it will be like a zoo with animals that run around with guns and bombing everything around them so we have to use but to clean up the mess before we leave

What is the big deal countries have been doing this sort of thing to each other for milleniums, why are people so startled and believe that the USA should be so different?
Europeans traditionally just get on with it and don't worry about ethics.

I truly believe that our army, marines, airforce, etc is saving Iraq, they are making such a big difference already and I also truly believe that if it was not working or worth it, then our President wouldn't have us over there to begin with. Do you think we should just lay low and let them do their own thing so they can come and attack us again and we have 9-11 all over again???
