Before he went to Iraq last time, it seemed like all we did was a long goodbye. Not much fun, and I could tell he didn't want to think about it. So he gets to come home, and I'm trying to plan worthwhile things that he will enjoy and that won't seem like this is a goodbye trip. Any ideas?

hun, no matter what you do it will be in the back of his mind that hes gonna have to leave you guys in 2 weeks. just plan fun things to do with him. you want to try to plan time for each of the kids to spend separate time with him as well. But make sure you have lots of fun together no matter what. when hubby came home for his 2 week R&R i made a welcome home banner and put it in a door way downstairs that way he saw that he was being welcomed home, not like he was about to leave. good luck hun.

You can take him to Six Flags and have fun with him and ask him how fun the rides were. When he is where he lives not now he can focus on his intrest and do anything he wanted to do. He can do what he reallly wanted to do and enjoy it when he is doing it. He can have fun with his new friends and also he can visit his old friends and also when he wants his old friends to move with him he can email them and if he wants ou to be with him he can tell you that he misses you and if he wants his old friends to be with him he can email them on the computer or call them and if he wants you to be with him so bad he can tell you that and also he can do anything to get you to move where he is and you can have so much fun with him when you see him all of the time and also if he wants to be with you and of you want to be with him call each other and hang out together and when you and a friend see each other all of the time it will be good for you and your friend and you two can have so much fun together when you see each other more and at the same time and when he sees you in Iraq he can have fun with you all the time. If it is someone in your family he can do anything he wanted to do when he is in Iraq. He can try new things in Iraq too.

Do things he will enjoy. Have a family get together to show your love and support for him. Right before my hisband deployed we took one week to spend with family, and then one week just for us.
Focus on his interest, but don't push things on him. He has a lot on his mind, so give him space. My husbands 2nd deployment was a little easier than his 1st. Just be sure you let him know how much he is loved and supported.
We will all be praying for him
GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS

When my husband got home for R&R it took him a little bit to adjust to everything. Then right when he got adjusted to family and american food, he had to leave. Just let him enjoy family. Don't rush things. My husband had to go back to Afghanistan on the 12th of this month and I'm missing him alot. If you want to chat just IM me or email me!

A night at the bar, to get him totally wasted! That is what my ex husband wanted. Don't avoid the subject, but don't bring it up every 5 minutes either.
