I enjoy Cockatiels. They're very smart, easy to handle, can speak when trained, and they're smaller than a Cockatoo. They are less messy than some birds and are very easy to care for. I also love their personality.

African Greys. They are extremely intelligent and can learn a vocabulary of up to 5000 words. (and have been known to learn colors and textures and use words in context.)

Cockatoos, for real. I used to have one and he was just like a little lap dog. He would sit on my lap, and he talked up a storm, including words like "uhoh", and "mama, mama" I could put him on my arm and say "are you ready?" He would stiffen up and I would point at him and say "Bang, your dead" and I swear he would fall over and hang upside down on my arm. I guess I really miss him.
