Not especially.

A little alcohol does ease the symptoms somewhat. You might try a toddy. Sugar, a little lemon juice, hot water and add rum to taste (or whisky).

The best remedy is to keep warm, drink plenty and eat. Take vitamin C to help the body fight the virus.

Sure! Drink enough of it, and you won't care if your nose is red and runny. Actually, it is thought to have some benefit. A hot toddy made with rum and honey is said to relieve congestion. And I suppose provide some tasty calories to someone who's taste buds and appetite are dead due to congestion. Maybe somebody else knows some science why alcohol might relieve congestion. And taken at night, provides sleep at least for awhile.
Do you have a cold? I take Nyquil,. The booze is in it. Put lotion on your nose everytime you sneeze. It won't get so sore. Get well soon.

Only if it is the brown rum.

My personal medical research has determined that consumption of multiple 4 oz (120ml) doses of brown distilled spirits with > 40% alcohol content will significantly aid in you not caring about having a cold. Whiskey, whisky, brandy, cognac, rum and tequila all meet the needs of the sufferer.

Feel free to try my cold remedy.

If it does not do any good, you will have shown it a good time anyway.

Really there is no cure for a common cold, you only want to get rid of the symptoms so that you will feel better.
