Flea collars are bad for your dog... dont use them. They contain poisons that can effect their nervous system. The best thing to do it take her to a groomer have her use a flea shampoo... not a dip. Then you need to flea bomb the house because there are fleas living in your carpets and furniture. If you dont do this they will jump right back on her. Then call the vet and ask if you can use advantage or frontline on her while she is pregnant. If you can then go get some and put it on her after she is groomed and before comes back home.

Good luck.

Go to the garden supply and get some Sevin Dust. This used for aphids, but a vet told me years ago to use it for flea control IT WORKS!, and it's cheap. You pour some into an old nylon stocking. Fill the foot and tie it off. Then take the bag and pat your dog the area she lays down to sleep. It will kill the fleas and when the fleas eggs hatch it will kill those fleas as well! It will not harm the puppies and will keep the fleas off them, too.

don't give her a flea bath b/c of the chemicals. you'll just have to give her a regular bath maybe with a flea begone shampoo b/c what they use in pet stores is way stronger and meant to kill just the fleas. using just reg. shampoo will lessen the chance of the strong chem. traveling through the circulatory system affecting the puppies. that's what i'd do.

Front line oil treatment works best for my dog. You'll have to check the back of the label to see whether or not it will affect the puppies. If so, maybe you should just give her a good bath and wait until the puppies are born.

ask your vet, but. I think Frontline is safer than others. There have been reports of bad reactions to Advantix and NEVER use Hartz products. DON"T use a flea COLLAR.

Be very careful with the pregnant dog. you should ask your vet or take your dog to the vet for a flea treatment.

Your best bet, take it to the vet and get their opinion. If you listen to the people on here, you'll wind up doing something stupid that will be fatal to your dog and her puppies. Like I said, I would take it to the vet just to get their opinion. I guess you could always wait out the pregnancy and then give your dog medicine. I would just go get professional help. =]

The only thing I can think of is try to and rub your dog down with regular rubbing alcohol while he is in warm tub and they should jump ship and drown in the water. I do not think it would hurt the puppies.

Much luck!
