They love to ignore you, tease you and walk away when you desire them to come to you. (Because they know they can). If you stop giving them attention - they come up for that much wanted petting. I've learned with my cat - if I leave him alone, he comes to me, curls around my leg. Jumps up to be near me.
Be your Pets friend....get on the ground and think like a cat, play like one. They will love you for it.
My cat follows me EVERYWHERE....(sometimes it irrigating) and I think they know this. Just when you want to love up on your pet.........they walk away. Any other time, they bother you. It's like a women........it's in there nature. The more attention you give them the more they want you to leave them alone.....the less attention, the more they want.

Cats cant speak english, but they do have pronounced facial expressions, and our cats have "asking" behaviors like tapping or touching our leg with a front paw, nibbling on my lips if i stop petting them, etc. Be observant, you'll figure out their language.

That's their nature. If you look at a tiger or any other big cat they are very much the same as your domesticated house cat.

Dogs have masters and cats have staff.
Cats are wonderful pets, good listeners and you don´t have to walk them in the rain.

they only seem so to us because: (1) they have enigmatic faces and seem to have only two expressions (calm and pissed-off); (2) they have that slinky graceful, soft-padded cat gait that super-models love to emulate; (3) they can sit in a corner for hours "meditating" or staring - who wouldn't find that spooky, ah?

That's the way God made them. That's just their feel. They can be really sly. I think they have a mind of there own! =]
