Bill Gates seems to the uninformed masses as the god of computers. Blinded by Bill bank account, millions believe Gates is a programming genius. It is rarely noted that MS-DOS is a clone of Gary Kildall’s CP/M, QDOS. Kildall’s OS was IBM’s first choice for the company’s personal computer. If only Kildall’s wife had accepted IBM’s offer, the computer/software landscape would be very different today. Apple’s Mac could have grasped a larger piece of the market with their innovative GUI. History followed a more sinister path, involving Microsoft backstabbing Apple by copying the Macintosh's OS.

Ironically in 1976, Bill Gates wrote the Open Letter to Hobbyists. The letter described that copying software without the publisher’s permission should be considered piracy. Computer hobbyists were vehemently opposed to Gates views and they believed innovation should not carry a price tag. Recently the richest man in the world went as far as to compare open source software to communism.

Bill Gates is the richest man in the world. Gates excelled in elementary school, particularly in mathematics and the sciences. Bill Gates went to Lakeside School, Seattle's most exclusive preparatory school where tuition in 1967 was $5,000 (Harvard tuition that year was $1,760). Lakeside rented time on a DEC PDP-10, which Gates was able to use to pursue an interest in computers, a rare opportunity at the time. According to a press inquiry he scored 1590 on his SATs[9], and was able to enroll at Harvard University in the fall of 1973, pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, where he met his future business partner, Steve Ballmer. During his second year at Harvard, Gates (along with Paul Allen and Monte Davidoff) co-wrote Altair BASIC for the Altair 8800. Gates dropped out of Harvard during his third year to pursue a career in software development. It was whe he created that got him to be so rich. He is my idol, and in my opinion, the greatest human to ever walk the earth.

He developed MSdos to replace PCdos (IBM) which became popular and started his empire from the riches.

The more Microsoft products he came out with like (Windows) the more people were buying.

So we were the ones who made Bill Gates rich.

now where is our thanks?
