Do you mean that you have a dog that you want to re-home? Here are a couple of web addresses to make a start; the Association of Pet Behaviour Therapists can help with training and behaviour problems.
The Dogs Trust (used to be the National Canine Defence League) never destroy a healthy dog, but they have a waiting list, you can't just leave a dog there. Contact them to find out about their rehoming policy.
The RSPCA usually take in any dog at any time, but they destroy on average 2,000 dogs every week because they have a limited amount of space and money, so there is no guarantee your dog can be rehomed.
The other site contains a list of useful addresses, if your dog is a purebred the breed rescue will help. Please note that they will need your dogs papers, and you do not get paid as you are not selling your dog. (Some people try to get payment because pedigrees are expensive.)
'No Kill' shelters always have a waiting list. Dogs with serious behavioural problems (eg aggression) stand little chance of being re-homed. If this is the problem and you really can't sort it out, please do the decent thing and take him to your vet to be euthanased. At least he won't be among strangers.
To increase your dogs chances of being rehomed, please ensure that his worming, de-fleaing and vaccinations are up to date.
Please consider making a generous donation to the charity that helps you. It will cost them anything between £60 -£200 a week to look after and rehome your dog.

Why do you want to rehome your dog? If it's aggressive, chances are no one will want it and the shelter will kill it anyways. If it's a training issue it's possible that the dog will go to someone who can't handle the problem either and once again it will be given away.

If this dog comes from a reputable breeder, contact your breeder, a reputable breeder will accept the dog back and find it a more suitable home. Otherwise, I suggest looking up a rescue on petfinder.

I do hope you reconsider.

I'm not too sure whether you have a dog that you don't want or you want to give a dog a home.

If you are wanting to rehome a dog belonging to you then you probably have all the information in the answers you have already but PLEASE don't offer him 'free to a good home'.

If someone can't afford to buy a dog then they probably can't afford to look after it.

If you are wanting to give a dog a home then you probably still have all the information you need. Just contact the Rescue and breed societies that have been suggested..

There is the NCDL which doesn't destroy any animals. If you google animal shelters/rehoming dogs and add your local city it should bring up a list of rescues near you.

Try agilitynet.com - they have a list of dogs needing new homes and if you want to place a dog on there it is free.

If the dog is a purebred, call the local rescue group for that breed. Or contact your local private shelters to make an appointment. Or put an ad in the paper and interview potential new families. Or put up flyers with the dog's picture around town - in pet stores, vet offices, grooming salons.

Call your local RSPCA and they will tell you who takes dogs in your area. Put an advert in the local vets and ask them too. Always go and see the home you are taking them to, so that you know they will be well cared for and loved.

There are many rescue and no kill shleters that will do this for you.
If your dog is a specific breed look for a rescue that works with that breed. You can start at www.akc.org
They list breeds and when you look a breed they will also list a breed club most breed clubs are affiliated with a rescue for that breed. If your dog in mixed try looking for a no kill shelter.
Start at your local humane socitey or with animal control.

just type rescue dogs on the internet search engine and you will get loads of results. There is www.dogstrust.org.uk or www.rspca.com. I wish you luck, we are rescuing a greyhound soon. Soppy, need little excercise and are extremely gentle with kids.
