Why is it when people ask questions or give answers to questions that bash the United States you never say what country you live in.
From a proud American.

Some good answers but many are proving my point. "Because you have bombs, or will attack us." Where are you from?

I have no problem bashing the present USA Government. I think the people in the US ( majority of them ) are great! I do have a problem with people who bash other countries as a whole like some of the no-brainers in here. I am from Canada. Say what you want about us. But do remember when the planes were falling we did help, side and grieve along with the rest of the Americans. Unfortunately it's comments like some in here from instigators that make close minded foriegners love to hate you. ...God Bless...p.s Bob Your an idiot!!

I am from the US, love my country dearly and feel very fortunate to have been born and raised here.....as for being afraid....I'm not I'm proud to be an American citizen, proud of this country and more than anything proud of its people and their diversity (yes, even those I disagree with), proud that we live in a place and time where we are actually able to speak our minds without fear of reprisals, not many people can say that....ask the women of Iraq or Saudi Arabia or China or any other country.

I typically do, (I'm English). But I try not to write mails that blast America, though I may write mails that blast:

1. The current American government
2. American foreign policy (and I accept that British foreign policy is as bad)

I've noticed that many Americans seem to have difficulty differentiating between someone criticising their government/president and people criticising their entire nation. I like many Americans and I'd like to go and visit there, but I still dislike your president and the war that we're taking part in.

Personally if I read something that said:

Americans are so stupid because...

or

America sucks because...

I'd find it stupid and offensive, regardless of whether the person said "I'm from Sweden (or wherever)!" or not...

I don't think that a lot of people bash the US and its citizens as a whole. I DO think that a lot of people criticize our government and leaders which is their perogative. However, because of our diplomats going to these other countries and acting like they're better than everyone else, when you travel abroad, people assume that you are already gonna be an a**hole from the start.

Bill S, these foriegners don't post what country there in because they are to proud to admit that we Americans saved them from the nazi's and that they would be speaking German or Japanese (nothing agianst Germany and Japan and Germans and Japanese) .And we bailed them out economicaly too and if it wasn't for U.S. technology these euro-peons wouldnt have 90% of what they have today. They bash us on our internet that America built. If you dont like America(ns) stay off our ****.

This is funny, they continue to bash our country and still don't say what country they are from when the question is asking they to disclose their country. They are probably a bunch of Canadians, or French.

Is it really necessary when more than majority of the countries dislike America? At the moment the only country that seems to like America is England, or is it just an act?
