I dont understand why foreingners move to the States and then talk about how much they hate this country/Americans. They don't want to learn English and they want to change all the civil liberties and beliefs that founded America (pledge of allegiance, Christmas etc...) I believe that if someone chooses to move to a country that they should try to assimilate to the ways and customs of that country. If you hate the country so much....why even live there? Either stay in your own country or go to a country that you respect and honor.

I agree!! We give them everything and then they criticize us for everything they can think of!
If they hate America and Americans so much, what the h*** are they here for? Oh! They don't like US, but they like our food stamps, medical care, housing subsidies, educational opportunities, etc. But, they HATE Americans.

That is not 'racist', what is 'racism? Go here, we are not racists:

In my opinion, this is the absolute best nation on earth, but sadly, some things need changing.

For the record the pledge of allegiance was changed in the 1950's to include the reference to god. It wasn't in the original. It was done as a specific statement against 'godless' communists. I am Buddhist so I am not offended by the reference, but come on.

Christmas...Well there's a holiday that needs revising. I am tired of getting mauled by Christians trying to buy gifts. I thought that it was supposed to be the celebration of the birth of God's child on earth. So how is the current celebration of Christmas doing that? Have you lost the concept of Freedom of Religion? And let us not forget that the only reason the original Puritans came here was to get away from religious persecution. They then came here and started to persecute others....very Christian. Do a little research. Look up the Story of John Riley during the US War with Mexico. See how we treated Irish Catholics. It wasn’t uncommon to see signs outside of Bars ‘no dogs or Irish allowed’

It isn't always a question of hating this country.

Let us look at an analogy:
Your car pulls to the right (or left... no pun intended). Someone suggests that you might want to correct the problem with the steering wheel and wheel alignment. Do you shoot this person, throw them out or at least see if there is something to what is being said.

Ex: We cry freedom, but we had the Chinese exclusion Act. We forcibly sterilized Puerto Rican women in PR and experimented on them in the 1950's. That's why birth control pills work. Let us not forget the Tuskegee Syphilis experiments of the 1930's that only ended under Nixon.

We've got issues in this country that cry out for resolution. Somewhere along the way we have forgotten that debate is GOOD. Now when someone questions us we respond that it is un-American; that the person posing the question is a traitor. What happened to debate?!

We are concerned about the threat to English as our national language; get a grip. In 2 generations the descendants of these current immigrants won’t know more than a handful of foreign words/phrases.

We need to cleanup our racist immigration policies. We need to have real, honest and OPEN discourse on issues and stop complaining when someone raises an issue.

The reason they do that is because they see an institutional weakness in our society...it's called 'forced tolerance'. Heard of political correctness? Now you're supposed to bite your tongue when people come to america and speak evil of it. I'm not saying america's perfect, but there's a definite trend at work here where all of a sudden it's 'blame america'. I'm all for people moving back OUT of america if they don't like it. Another question to ask is, if it's so great where they come from, and so BAD in america, whyinhell are they in our country?

Another poster said 'youre all just against latinos' and that's not true, americans are against people that come to america from ANYWHERE for ANY reason that have a big chip on thier shoulder, big attitude, and then want it all for free. Most americans scoff at handouts, and rightly so. You don't need the stuff, but we've got waves of foreign-born US welfare parasites rolling in the door, attitude included. Well, go back to attitude-stan, or mexico, or guatemala, or wherever, and see how much welfare money they're handing out these days. We know why people come here, it's for free money. So, turn off the magnet, and fire the politicians that passed the legislation that turned it on in the first place....

Hate America, where have you been. Fighting for a legal cause is not bashing America. Civil liberty is why they do this they don't want to change it. Foreigners? Are you talking about religion changing the pledge and holiday, yeah, I thought so. Get your facts staight. No foreigner is trying to change this. They want to live here because they can. If you feel offended........TOO BAD!!!!!!! You move to a country you feel respected in!

Oh, come on CC. That is so transparent. This has nothing to do with racism. One of the problems with mass immigration is lack of assimilation leading to self-segregation and animosity between groups. That is one reason why there are immigration limits, although not the biggest reason. Regardless of race, if people are coming here not to join this country but to take its benefits while despising it, it is a good reason to not let them in and to send the illegals with that disposition back.

Nothing was said about what race it is. From the questions asked it looks like more than one race is suggested. Mexicans, for example, don't typically have a problem with Christmas.

This is for bunt.

I am so sick of you and if I could contact you and tell you what I think of your sorry ungrateful a$$ I sure the hell would! Who the hell do you think you are!?! I have read your questions and your answers to other questions and you are hateful and mean and disrespectful to America and everything America represents.

And you know Dick about American women. I am a 33 yr old American woman and am very well read and knowledgeable in politics and world affairs.

Yes you really should go back to Europe. We don't need you, or anyone else with your attitude, in America

Because they can, unlike most of their own countries where a police will bash their face in. Poltics in latin america is kind of odd in comparison to america, it's almost religious. In Venezuela you can potentially get in a fight over not liking Hugo...rather stupid mentality. I remember seeing a poor lady being escorted away by officials so the mob wouldn't beat her down.

The end result is you get a lot of emotions and a lot of ad hominems...not a lot of logic or peer review. No insult to the latins that don't practice this, but my view of the latin cultures is that often arguements are just a normal process of handling disputes, rather than working it through calmly and getting some common ground. As always not all latin people behave this way, but cultures in America are chosen, not given to you (although that doesn't stop mindless following).

My neighbor does that. He is from Iritrea, and is always talking about the decadence of America, and how he hates to pay income tax. I just listen without comment. Maybe he feels insecure, and wants to cut everyone here down to make himself feel better. He sure wants to take every advantage he can from America's economic and social system, from educational grants to business oportunities. I can imagine how far I'd get in his country trying anything remotely similar.

now this is a good question its beyond me why most not all but most do this and show patriotism for the said place that didn't care about them or their people ? i cant wrap my mind around that really and have asked this same question i don't expect them to celebrate Christmas and things like this but they seem to show no allegiance to this country and thats the part i dont like and marching the streets demanding and waving a different flag .

they have already proven there true intent in my book and by the thousands so you better see that for what it is . they want to be here but by a seperate set of rules, laws, and beliefs you have to ask yourself do you want America to be to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities. We have but one flag. We must also learn one language and that language is English."

This is precisely the same kind of challenge that aggressive outsiders are making against other parts of the West, including Muslim immigrants in Europe and, in the most extreme form, Palestinians in Israel. Supremacist Muslims have demanded that Europe repudiate Israel, legally prohibit public criticism of Islam, downplay acts of violent Jew-hatred by immigrants, and not deport Muslim illegal aliens. And some Palestinians, of course, demand that Jewish state abolish itself altogether, actually cutting it out of maps of the Middle East (just as illegal-alien marchers in L.A. held signs of North America with the United STATES crossed out.

They're here for the freebies handed out by our government and funded by the taxpayers. Would you believe some elderly Chinese and Russian immigrants are living in HUD subsidized lovely, one bedroom apts. for $50.00 a month! Including electricity, a/c, heat & hot water. All because we can't prove they have any money. Then we top it off by providing Medicaid and prescription drugs at $2.00 a piece. Its a disgrace and the government encourages it. How sick is that?

They ran whatever country they came from into the ground and they are embarrassed by how well Americans do. Have you noticed how Mexicans talk about Mexico like it's the greatest place on Earth? Yeah, it's really great...after you leave.
