Mexico is considered to be a complete joke. It has almost the same landmass and natural resources as the US and Canada, yet it is a pathtic 3rd world country. You whine about how you can't do anything, because you are afraid to risk your own lives. And don't give me any crap about how I don't know how it is. I fought in Iraq. It wouldn't even take an armed revolution to improve Mexico, just a united front like we had during the Civil Rights movement. But you are too lazy or cowardly to do that. So you run away from your problems. Then you whine that we are racist when we want to secure our borders.

PLUS FUTE- Wow a resort town was better than a mid-west blue collar town? Maybe you should travel through Nuevo Laredo, where the sheriff was killed on his first day by the drug dealers. Where the drug cartels actually have RPGs like it's fricking Baghdad.

MIZZMISTI- Problem solved? Because of the corruption of Mexico, their people are flooding my country. The problem will be solved when we seal the border and you guys are stuck in Mexico, where you will be forced to fix things or implode.

I don't know what fighting in Iraq has to do with Mexico, but oh well. You're statement is ignorant. If you think that Mexico is a 3rd world country, you haven't seen a 3rd world country. Mexico is stuck in a corrupt class system which stems from the government set up. Over there you are either really poor or really rich, and there's no middle ground.

If you really want to know the secret to keeping the Mexicans from coming, it's going to be by helping their economy out and not by building walls.

EDIT: As for your Nuevo Laredo comment, what if people judged America by Compton? Basing a judgement on a country on one city is foolhardy.

There are a lot of good and bad arguments here. I can say that I am proud to be an American and I am not ashamed that my parents were born in Mexico, but came to America for a better life. Political matters aside, ask yourself: What would you do? If you were born into a 3rd world country (like you call it); Would you stay there and fight all your life knowing that you might have a chance of a better life in another country? A better life for you and your family? So many people complain about illegals pouring in and corrupting America...you are lucky you were born in a country where basic human rights are automatically given to you, and where you have a government strong and rich enough to protect those rights. Who are we to judge if we've never been faced with struggles like the ones others have?

I'm not going to apologize for my country being the richest and the greatest in the world, nor am I going to sit here and tell you this country doesn't have any faults, heck we're full of them.
You all seem to be missing the point, it is OUR country and WE make and should enforce the laws. We as a nation chose to have GOD as the head of our country from the very start, that's why we are so blessed. Those of you that think we are so bad, check and see what Mexico's immigration laws are.
It's enough that we give our young soldiers lives to try and provide democracy and peace around the world. We as a country don't owe you, or anyone else in the world a darn thing, don't forget, you'd all be speaking German or Japanese if the U.S and the U.K. hadn't stepped up and slugged it out on the front lines during WWII.

Richard M I agree!! Why can't they protest, demonstrate, unite, overthrow that govt., fight to make THAT country better? I have asked this question many times. If they have such a strong backbone, and are as strong willed as they claim, they should go back home and make their country better instead of coming up here, doing all those things ILLEGALLY, mind you, and demanding rights they DON'T have.

Their future generations will be ashamed of how their ancestors went to another country illegally and demanded rights they didn't have and sucked up welfare at that country's citizens expense. They could go home, fight for their rights, overthrow their corrupt leaders, make their country better. That would give their future generations something to be proud of.

Their ancestors did not settle in a land that is totally inhabitable, there had to be some way those people survived. They probably raised chickens, pigs, goats, cattle, had gardens, and SURVIVED there. They didn't run away from it.
When they get deported they'll be forced to make it better on their own and they'll either sink or swim.

I agree with you one hundred percent and disagree with these mornons trying to defend Mexico and their ever so deteroriating ecomony, morals and self-respect. They are infiltrating our company to abuse our hand outs. Maybe that's the problem though, if we didn't cater to these lazy bastards, giving them free healthcare, schooling and whatever else they can get their hands on. It's bullshit becasue there are so many AMERICANS that need these services and are refused. They have a vast oil resource there and aren't making money on it. Something like the 4th or 5th biggest in the world. (Can't remembe rthe exact deal.) Pathetic, just pathetic and we (US) are catering to it. It needs to end now. What they don't understand is that after an evaluation of the border down there, we find that it's wide open. Had terrorists not be able to get in down there, there probably wouldn't be a big "to do" about it. However with our borders in such dissray, something had to be done to try to secure them.

I don't think that Mexicans are lazy, but I do think that they have been stuck in a cycle for 150 years. They have had many people stand up to the government and try to over-throw it during that time, but nothing has worked. I am really offended at all the people who have come on here and suggested that you personally or Americans should fix their problems. Why is it our problem to solve?You know the world hates us if we do get involved and they hate us when we don't.Mexico is not our problem to fix and we shouldn't have to take in thousands of their citizens every year or support their government. We cannot feed and educate all our own people, we shouldn't have to take on everyone else's. Nobody ever says, hey the Sudan is killing all their own people, Italy you have to send your soldiers, and doctors, and millions of dollars to fix that.

I'm not Mexican, my mom is. And since she arrived in America 25 yrs ago, she has done nothing but work her @$$ off, and pay taxes just like YOU! How dare you insult the Mexican people!? Mexicans are not lazy for starters, maybe you should come to Mexico , and make yourself a citizen here , and then you can see who is lazy , we work for less than what you would make in a day, and we still have to provide for our families, you are the lazy one , you say you fought in Iraq !!!! , So what that does not make you a better person , your should think about how good you have it , before try to compare to other people .

I am NOT Mexican, thank God but will say thank you for saying that. They should be embarrassed. I agree..they are too lazy and cowardly to confront their own problems in their country so they think they have a right to come over here and cry and whine about how bad they have it while flying that rag flag and taking government handouts while insulting us.
