Coming from a guys perspective. It's not something usually heard and men aren't so deoendant on hearing those things but they are definately a confidence booster. My wife says those things for me and in my sarcastic way I'll say she's blind or something but it really makes me feel loved. So continue to do so because it may not have a huuuge effect but at the very least it's communicating your desire for him and making him feel wanted.

Guys eat that stuff up. They love to be told how sexy they are. But we like it too. It is just human nature. Everyone wants to be told they look good, regardless of how old they are.

I constantly tell my husband he's cute. He has this little button nose that turns up slightly in his profile. It's absolutely adorable.
I don't see anything wrong with it at all, unless it makes your boyfriend uncomfortable.
