Well ... yes... those that say it should come from the heart are right but let's face it... we don't always know how to put those eloquent thoughts into words, let alone in a speech... I have included a few "cheat" sheets to borrow from! The last site: www.thebestmanspeech.com was the one that we have given to our best man... I am not worried about my father but the best man is terrified of speaking in public and doesn't know where to start!!! He asked for some help and we did the research!

From the heart. Talk about how it's been to have her in your life and how she's grown but will always be in your heart etc.
If you want more formal look it up on internet, somethings got to be there. Father of the bride speeches or wedding speeches or toasts or reception speeches or toasts.

They have great ideas for speeches on there and if anyone else is having a problem with their speech, refer them there. I can think of at least half a dozen Father's of the bride that I know that have gotten ideas for their toast off of The Knot.

You can't read somebody else's idea of a speech. It has to be pleasant memories from the father's personal experience-a few sincere sentences of what the daughter means to her father and how lucky the groom is and a nice heartfelt toast to their lives together is all that's needed.

I wouldn't look for one, I would write one from your heart. I know you are probably worried about "getting it right" and wanting to make a good speech, but I am sure the bride rather have one from your heart. Good luck!

The best thing to do is write your own. It doesn't have to be on par with Martin Luther King or something, just from the heart. If you need ideas try typing in wedding speeches and wedding phrases in google.

Father of the bride speeches need to include little moments from the past when your daughter has done funny things, think hard with your wife and write them down, they also need to welcome the groom into yhttp://www.weddingspeechbuilder.com/fatherofthebride/speeches/Speeches.cfm?CatID=6&CFID=73764&CFTOKEN=48289312our family.
