No, it's not really a normal thing.
But it might not by a psych problem. There could be a medical problem causing that. Are you diabetic? It is possible that your blood sugar is going down low at night, which is a common problem among diabetics. If that's the case, you may wake up wanting some carbs to make your sugar come back up.

That is not normal. You've basically conditioned yourself to do something that is not good for you. Make sure you are eating balanced meals during the day. Before bed, maybe have a glass of milk or something, but don't eat in the middle of the night. You'll get fat, and if you don't brush your teeth after you're done, you're going to get cavities.
Get yourself out of the habit the same way you got yourself into the habit. When you wake up in the middle of the night and think you need to eat something, just have a glass of water. Don't eat snacks.
If you just absolutely can't NOT eat during the night, see your doctor. Something could be wrong.

I am assuming that you misspelled snacks as snakes, right??
Sounds like you could have a type of anemia that requires food intake all the time. Do you snack frequently during the waking hours? Is this a pattern for the entire day? If it is, then it could be a physical deficiency.
Ask a doctor to do some tests. It couldn't hurt (except for drawing blood). Usually, these things can be easily managed when they are uncovered.

Snakes. . .hmmm. . .there's a new one.
Snacks in the middle of the night. . .not a mental health problem most likely if it wakes you. Probably a blood sugar thing. Might check with your family doctor. Unless, of course you have an eating disorder like bulimia or you're well on your way to becomming extrememly obese. Then it could be a mental thing. Maybe you're eating for comfort? Sounds like you need to investigate.

I would ask your doctor it sounds like maybe a sort of addiction. Do you overeat during the day? Maybe you are not eating enough during the day. Try to put away the snacks by your bed. If you half to walk all the way to the kitchen you may be less likely to get up.

You're eating snakes at night??? No, that's not at all normal. If you just mean normal snacks, it's ok as long as it's not causing unhealthy weight gain. You may consider seeing a doctor to check for chemical imbalances or other disorders, but if you're happy and healthy, who cares?

I was gonna say, snakes by the bed would stop me from doing ANYTHING! Now, about those snacks. Why not keep a crisper full of fresh cut up veggies by the bed, then when the urge hits, you can munch away, guilt free.

It's not good for you and can lead to weight gain. Try having a high protein snack before bed and then when you wake up, only drink water. Your body is in the habit of needing food, but you can break yourself of that habit by instilling a new one.

are you pregnant? How much are you eating during the day? It depends...
If you aren't getting a good amount of nutrients and food during the day, then you could be waking up hungry during the night. what kind of snacks are you having? Maybe they just aren't filling you up.
I would try to eat somthing a little heavier before bed time...that way you won't be waking up hungry...give it a shot
