I couldn't find an actual recipe either. It appears to be so common among the people that use it, Spanish and Sephardic Jews, that there's no need for a recipe.

Basically, it appears to be garlic sauteed in oil and then pureed. Among the other ingredients that can be added, I found bay leaf, paprika, and almonds or walnuts. One comment was that after a meal heavy in it you could clear out an entire movie theater.

That's a stumper. All I could find is "The secret lies in. a good Galician ajada (a sauce. made with oil, garlic, bay leaf. and paprika)" I think there are many books on Amazon that have this recipe in them, however I couldn't find any on the web, not even at Allrecipes.com!
