This is the 21st Century ... should be Equal Opportunities time. There really isn't any reason why a girl shouldn't ask a guy out :)

Ok, wow. This is pitiful honey. You are thinking way to hard about this. Normally when asked a question and people don't have the exact answer, people ask why...there is no reason for it really. It is a sign that you are willing to continue the conversation. Damn it ask him. Don't waste time on here panicing because he used a figure of speech you are apparently unaccustomed to. And there is no reason to be the demure little girl and wait for him to be the man. It's 2006 and perfectly acceptable to ask a guy out. Go! Now! Be brave! No, quit reading and go!

You should totally ask him to do something with you on sunday. I am sure he is willing to hang out with you. Come on, he said he was doing something on Saturday and open on Sunday. Take your chance.
It is okay for you to ask him. If he is not going to ask you then hey, take the step and ask him. Now a days, it do not matter who askes who.. as long as someone is being ask.
And if he is busy Sunday then oh well. Go hand out with some friends until next time. You would not know when a guy likes you until you try....
Good luck.

Maybe he is really busy Saturday and when he answered your question with "y" he wants you to make the first move because maybe hes scared. This is an example of how it should go:
you: "What are you doing this weekend?"
him: "I'm busy Saturday."
you: "open Sunday?"
him: Why?"
you: "because I was wondering if you would like to hang out maybe."
him: "sure, what time?"
and that is how you should take it. Good LucK!!

It's a novel concept, but he probably asked you "why" because he wanted to know why you were asking. It's not that complex.
And if you wait around for the guy to make the first move, you're going to be waiting for a VERY long time. Boys are shy. Unless you want to wait until you're in your 20s, when they finally get some NERVE, I'd go for it now.

Well when he says why he is probably not sure if your open on saturday and doesn't want to look like a by asking if you say your busy. SO all you do is say 'Do you wanna hang out on Sunday then?' He will respond.

Guys arn't gonna speak up and ask to do something...this guy i talk to he just tells me what he is doing like when i ask and i would be like can i come....he would say yea....take it slow and let things flow. Let him want to be with you....its different to make plans with him...thats okay to do. Speak up and make plans but don't be all over him..wait until he makes the moves.... hope everything works out for you. He just might be a keeper..wait to see what happens..

I would have to say, ask him if he wants to hang out on Sunday, if he says no drop him like yesterdays news. He is not worth your time nor attention. Odds are he will then ask you out once he sees that you are not about to wait around on him.

okay first of all...guys are not the onlly ones capable of making the first move my ex liked it when i would make plans, they are too afraid of what we want...he asked why because he probably wanted to know what you had in mind, so then maybe you could do it sunday, so ask him and then wait and the next time its his turn
if you dont want to blow it relax and do what feels right
dont go by our "we are women and the guy has to do what we want him to do, or otherwise he isnt worth it" its all about sacrificing somthing....
relationships are sopposed to be equal

Well, if he has ur number. Wait for him to reply back first. That way he will just keep waiting and waiting thinking that you are going to ask him out. He will get sooo anxious he will finaly ask you out and he will be more interested!
