You can go in at 17, with your parent's permission. My husband went into the Marine Corps at 17 years old. Asthma is kind of a hard one to get a waiver for, but you can get a waiver, if it isn't "life threatening" If you have a college education, you may be able to go in at a higher rank. Just call your local recruiting office. No matter what they say about not saying anything about your asthma, don't listen to them, it is better to disclose that, because they will find out when you're down range anyway.

less than the old draft device, the decrease age became 18 and the better decrease became 35. Presumeably, the youngest will be taken first as they're the fittest. A volunteer ought to bypass contained in the provider at 17 with their moms and dads' approval.. even if, this isn't to say the a lengthy time period will be an same less than a clean draft, might want to or not that is needed. i'd be in pick of universal protection rigidity provider. each body is going, barring in undemanding words adverse wellness or family individuals pick. that is the in undemanding words obviously honest device.

18 and up...no matter what! They take you to MEPS and give you a physical...so if it's acute asthma it's very possible for you to get in still. And if you already have a college education you go in as a higher rank and get paid more!

Asthma is no big deal. The college depends on what your degree is in, if you have a technical degree, not something like liberal arts or political science you could be eligible to be an officer, which means you will make more money, and be responsible for more. I think the cutoff age is 35.

Asthma is a disqualifier if you've had any symptoms since your 13th birthday. I was just at MEPS last week and they gave us a brief. if you try to hide it and have an attack in boot camp, you will be kicked out.
You don't need a technical degree to be an officer, any kind will do. Though getting into Navy and Air Force officer programs is very competitive.

You can get a commission in ANY of the services with ANY college degree. Sure, some jobs may require more technical degrees (Engineering to be an engineer, nursing to be a nurse), but it's only a very few.
