angels are men (or to be p.c: people), so there were none until men were in existence, and as angels, they do God's will and there are the many different "ranks" of angels, seraphim, cherubim, and archangels, those are the only ones I can remember.

Since the Bible doesn't specify all we can do is guess.
My guess is they worshipped God full time.
The Bible does say they desire to look into our state. . . a bit jealous (? bad word choice maybe) of the fact that we are the Bride of Christ.
