You have to lift and tone. Lifting means to bleach with a bleaching powder and creme, stripping your natural color. After lifting, you then tone with the color you have chosen. I have dark brown hair that turns orange when lifted, and then blonde when toned. You can get all your products at any beauty store (Sally's). When you get your creme for the lifting get the bottle with either Volume 30 or Volume 40, this helps with the stripping process. Choose the shade of blonde and either the toner it suggest or the one you purchased for the bleach (its all the same).

Go to a salon. I think that you hair is dark so the blonde colour just turns orange on your hair. I tried dying my hair with a red colour but it turned brown so no one actually noticed.

because you're hair is too dark. Are you doing it yourself or at a salon? Go to a colorist at a GOOD salon, its worth the money.

Perhaps your hair is too dark. I would advise going to a salon and have them professionaly figure things out. You could damage your hair by overprosessing it.

Go to a salon and have it done. They know how to compensate for any red pigment causing it to go orange.

Okay, I have dark brown hair with red undertones...I have been dying my hair different colors of blond over the years.
You absolutely have to pay a wonderful hairstylist to fix your problem. Tell him/her your problem and they will be able to fix it. Good luck.

Do you have red in your hair at all? If you do it will make it harder to dye your hair blonde. I have the same problem the only thing that will fix that is to strip your hair and then dye it.
