It's gonna be tough no matter where you do basic. I did my basic and advanced training at Ft. Wood. The summers are hot n muggy, and the winters are COLD. Other than that, it's six of one, half a dozen of the other. The major factor on how intense your basic training will be is your M.O.S.There'll usually be companies full of engineers, infantry, etc. These bieng ombat related are going to be made tougher by the drill sargeants (usually also of the same specialty of their inductees). The more relaxed occupations, like supply, admin, etc don't require as tough a conditioning. There being no point to making their lives miserable, Basic companies of these students are going to be alot more relaxed.

Nope. The 2 places with the reputation for the toughest Basic Training have always been Fort Benning, Georgia (Home of the Infantry), and Fort Knox, Kentucky (The School of Hard Knox). Benning is a little hotter in the summer, but Knox has crappier hills.

If there is basic training at Ft. Leonardwood, it is probably no harder than what's at the other training centers. You gotta remember, the Army trains hard to develop camraderie, spirit, and mold leadership. They break you down to build you up, get rid of civilian ways and introduce military ways. Buck up and take a bit of humiliation to be a better man

basic is hard. It's designed to make you hard. Very few people have died during basic training. I just think you're crazy to join right now. But I've never been in as great shape as I was after basic training. It's one the many things the military does very well.

winter is cold there with snow and everything. But they said that winter was the best time to go there. Went to basic there in January 2004. It's not that bad. Just listen to the drill sergeants and you'll do fine. :)

No. It is kinda like a vacation, bring your golf clubs, bathing suit, and sunscreen, and you sould be just fine. What do you think? of course it is hard, it will probably be the hardest 10 weeks of your life, but you will come out a better person.

Hot in the summer...cold in the winter....basic is going to be tough where ever you go....It will be easier if you get in shape first...do a million push ups...a million situps and run 1000 miles this summer before you go.

If you are OSUT (MP or Engineer at FLW) it is harder than if you are in a Unit that will send you to AIT somewhere else. But they all train to the same standard.
