Aside from the axle shafts it's rated the same as the half-ton pick-up rear end.

Durango's had an option for heavy tow package which included a heavier axle in the rear.

Durango's and Dakota's, most have the heavy duty package. Also to achieve the tow rating, Dodge had to go with the six stud package.

Six lugnuts will hold the wheeel on better than five. This is very true when the wheels are sujected to heavy side loading (like in a 4x4, or when pulling heavy loads.

so you have to buy different rims, Rams and Dakota are made in Michigan, and Durango in Mexico.
