Does any one know anything about what problems that the buick reatta has? like alt going out, head gaskets blowing all the time, random piston stoppage, etc..... Let me know cause i just might buy one soon. Thanks a lot for your facts and knowledge.

stop beating on it...and what the heck is piston stoppage...i have never heard this term and i have been workin on cars along time...the only thing i can think of would be engine knock (detonation)...for that particular phrase....head gaskets blowing all the time sounds like the engine head got warrped and who ever repaired (s) never check for the warrpage..wich would cause the head gaskets to keep blowing..give it a major tune up..or better yet get rid of it...its time to put it down...junk it..

take it in and have a diagnostics done on it, Air filter should be replaced right off the bat, tire inflation should be 32 psi. If the oxygen sensor is bad the computer will tell the engine to add more fuel and fuel consumption goes way up. does the car have lots of power? of not there could be a catalytic converter issue (plugging up) hard to really tell without checking the vehicle myself

My brother in law has one and loves it. So far no problems but he babies everything he owns. I do know that parts are inter changeable with the Riviera. The digital dash can be a problem. It can just fail and then come back on. There are several clubs and I know they can help.
