Some dogs shows will not allow fixed dogs. These shows are specifically for breeding the finest lineage of the breeds. Other shows are for just showing off the best dogs and fixed or not doesn't matter. Check out your show. You need to ask yourself "do I really want the yuck and responsibility of birthing puppies?" If not, fix your dog ASAP. In the end, the real question is do I love my animal enough to do what is best, or am I thinking of my own purposes. Owners breed animals, otherwise the animal is just following nature's path to its own destruction.

you can fix him and show him - you just need to get artificial testicles put in...
more pros to neutering.. since it prevents lots of health risks, stops spraying, reduces agressive tendencies, lowers roaming urge.. etc
only con is that he can no longer breed which is ONLY important if he can prove he is worthy of being bred in the first place, obviously if he came from a pet store he isnt worthy of being bred and showing him will be embarassing... if his parents were both top show dogs, and you have money and time to show him - then great - go for it...otherwise fix him

oh incidentally he still can be shown as neutered dog.. they have OBEDIENCE CLASSES and AGILITY - just not "breed" shows

Do U plan on breeding him ? If not neuter him . The pros of this action outweigh the cons. Consult your vet.

The biggest pro to neutering your dog, is reducing the chances of prostate cancer.

he's more likely to "mark his territory" when he's not neutered. they also seem to be a little sweeter when they're neutered. the main thing is that he doesn't run loose and get some other dog pregnant.

Well, let's see...off the top of my head, there would be a tendency for the dog to hump everything in sight...

Can you just get his tubes clipped? You don't want him making out with the girl dogs.

Why would you do that?? Would you like someone to take away your reproductive system. I don't think so.
