Anything easy to eat while mingling, it's easy to buy platters of wraps or sandwiches so that saves you the work- or maybe you want to do a lual (sp?) with kabbobs? I especially love the Martha link at the top. Make sure there isn't any food that the mommie (you?) may find nauseating! :) Have fun :)

If you are the one that is pregnant, then why are YOU having the shower? Shouldn't someone throw it for you? If you are just throwing the shower, then go to this website: www.allrecipes.com. They have menus for every occasion and you can also get a complete grocery list and just print it out. You can try serving "baby food". Baby shrimp, baby size sandwiches (ham, turkey, tuna, chicken), little pieces of cheese on a platter, vegetables cut into baby size pieces. Punch and a cake.

Get some fresh fruit and some finger sandwiches! Also Try my punch...people love it at baby showers! Go getr tropicana fruit juice(it's mixed fruit) not in a gallon they sell it in a carton. Get two of those. Get a 2 liter of sprite. Get shebert icecream (2) (low in fat). Get frozen strawberries. Mix it all in together and it will make the most delicious punch you have ever had! The best part are the strawberries floating in the punch! It should make 2 bowls of punch. Very refreshing for the summertime also! Have fun and good luck!

Unless you are going for something fancy and expensive, we always served the following at the baby showers in our family. Finger sandwiches (turkey, ham, chicken salad, or whatever you like), chips (2 kinds), veggie tray (broccoli, caulifower, carrots, celery, cucumbers), cake (of course), a cheese ball (very easy...2 pkgs of softened cream cheese, thinly sliced ham chopped finely, couple of chopped green onions...mix together, roll into a ball, and put crackers around it). Just remember, you are serving snacks, not a meal

Hope some of these help!

My mom threw me a shower but I decided on everything. She just bought everything. We had it at a park down the street since it was summer. Well we couldnt decide on any kind of food. So we decided on catering from YaYa's Chicken (a broiled chicken place). It was fairly cheap and provided enough food for everyone (my shower was co-ed). So maybe you could find a place that is cheap and caters so that you dont have to do extra work to prepare food, you are pregnant after all and should be resting mostly.

Keep easy and expensive (if you must). People aren't there just to eat but socialize. Make the games fun.
Veggie plate, fruit, cucumber sandwiches, or even a pot luck shower if you feel comfortable with asking each person to bring a dish. Keeps it exciting.
Best Wishes!

First of all - - Congratulations!!!!!

You should serve finger foods, chips, cake and have some kind of punch to drink. Just remember that you don't need that much food at a baby shower.
