I try to control my breathing and realize that without my permission and participation, NO ONE can control me but me and God. Before I became pregnant, a glass of red wine worked wonders as well.

Actually once I lose my temper, I find that I cool down fairly quickly, like one of those blowover thunderstorms. On occasion things have been broken during the brief storm though, I confess...that usually pretty much puts a damper on my temper, because I start feeling remorseful instead. If I have to calm down deliberately, I go off somewhere and breathe deeply, talk it over with myself, or, like someone else said, start doing something productive, like housework. Sometimes I look at my boyfriend's picture-seeing him always makes me smile, even when its him I'm mad at, lol.

When I am on the edge of losing it, I try to get away from the situation. I walk into another room or outside and count to ten, if its real bad twenty, then I can think clearly.

Count to 10, if that does not work then till 50, and think of the repurcussions before opening your mouth

If I'm home, I usually start cleaning furiously. I swear my husband upsets me sometimes just so I'll mop the kitchen. lol. Taking long-deep breaths and removing myself from the person/thing upsetting me works as well.

Oh...and retail therapy is awfully nice.

I try to remove myself from the situation. Usually that means taking a walk.

Hole up in your room and beat your pillow to imaginary peices.
Remember why you are angry. you'll cool down in a few minutes doing this. Works almost every time.
