I have had a Urinary Tract Infection 2 or 3 times before (mind you, I'm almost 15), but I've never known it before I went to the doctor for something else and I had to do a urine sample. So that's why I'm not sure if I have one now or not. Anyway, for the past 2 or 3 days I have pain when I urinate, but the pain is awful immediately after. The pain is near my lower pelvis, and I mean the pain is BAD, where I have to just stand still and walk carefully because it hurts so bad. Does this just happen sometimes, could it be because I should be starting my period soon? Or should I go to a doctor? Thank you so much for your help!

I believe you should see a doctor of course but my personal opinion is that it's something other than an UTI bc I have had a few myself (age 25) & even had one so bad I had my meds increased to better assist is getting rid of it....turned my urine bright blue...LOL! Anyhow, maybe too much info sorry trying to help, but honestly it sounds like a kidney infection, espeacially since your younger & had already having a few UTIs makes you alot more prone to getting a Kindnet Infection. Useually those are determined if your lower back hurts as well, extremly bad.....your menstral cycle by the way shouldn't give you be the problem unless your confusing cramps w/it...but I doubt that. Good luck hope I helped ya out ;)

yes you probably do have one. start by buying the biggest jug of cranberry juice you can find, and get some ibuprofen. take the ibuprofen and guzzle the juice, drink a lot of it. it'll kill when you go pee but do it. try to urinate often even if it hurts. you should feel better in a day of two if you do this. drink the whole jug and nothing else unless you mix it with a little water.
if you feel worse or it doesn't feel better within a day SEE A DOCTOR
if you feel better than YAY.!!
if you START to feel symptoms again at any time repeat with the above.
I KNOW it has saved me
hope you feel better soon I feel ya!!!

Definitely sounds like a UTI to me. See your doctor again. Ways to avoid getting UTIs are:
1. Shower instead of having long baths
2. Dry the area carefully after bathing or swimming
3. When you need to pee don't "hold it" for long periods of time
4. Drink acidic fluids like orange juice or cranberry juice at least once a day

I'm sure you have a UTI. Those are the classic symptoms. I hate to tell you but when my daughter was a young teen, she would get a uti quite often when she was getting her period and had to go on medicine to try to curb it. She grew out of it.

you should go to your doctor first...
answering a question of a medical nature before seeing your doctor could be harmful to you if given the wrong advice...
good luck and get well :)

You should go to the doctor. Whatever it is, it doesn't sound normal. Take care!

I would go to your Dr. That is nothing to mess around...they can become kidney infections....and you can serioulsy die from that.
