That depends on the personalities of the people in your family. Age is a key factor. Teens never want to do anything as a family, remember when you were a kid.

To answer the question without more information......

Frisbee in the park.
Amusement parks
Going to the beach
Going to the mountains
Going to an arcade with games for everyone
Riding bikes on a bike trail
Going for a walk or hike

Talk to your family and see what they want to do. Trying new things is good. So, if you can't all agree on 1 thing, take turns. Everyone writes 2 activities on a piece of paper and they are put in a jar. Each week, plan some time and pull an activity out of the jar..... then go do it.

Depends on the ages involved. In our house, it's just me and a 5 year-old, so family game night is a big hit (lots of Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, Spinning Wishes, Pretty pretty princess...), as is family movie night (she picks, I make popcorn and we turn off the phone for the length of the movie) We also spend 30 minutes every evening doing something together, anything from picking out clothes for the week to reading to doing a craft together. Sometimes, we'll just put on some music and dance like mad.

Those are all things that are fun for us :) The trick is, finding out what's fun for everyone involved.

Of course amusement parks, bowling, mini golf are fun but my family enjoys picnics in the park, bike rides along bike paths, camping. It is also fun to have family nights at home where you can play board games together, do crafts or even cuddle up and watch a movie. I also find that the things we enjoy the most usually require little or no money. Be creative and keep it fun!

Go swimming, fishing, bike riding, go to the park. Depending on your children ages there are lots of different ideas. Go to the zoo, museum, amusement park. Play board games at home, plan a family night with popcorn, movie, special dinner the kids can help plan. Simply play catch, frisbee, volleyball in the yard. Time with the kids can be anything involving everyone. Have fun!!

As the head of the family, find out first what their interests are.Even if it is as simple as watching TV, try buying DVDs that everyone would be interested in.Or if a good movie is being shown on TV,tune on it and attract everyone to watch it.Of course, serve the usual popcorn and chips and the drinks that you would ordinarily bring into the theaters. We had a wonderful time watching Tom Hanks and Catherine Zeta Jones in "The Terminal" last Father's Day.Even my workaholic brother in law finished the movie before setting off to work.

Every Sunday we would have family fun night. Anyone was invited to join us for dinner and then afterwards we would play games: Various card games like Hearts, Spades; Golf; Spoons, etc.; we would play charades; Wordster; Pictionary; Trivial Pursuit....

It really helped keep the family together.

Designate one night a week as game night. Let each member take turns picking which game the'd like to play. Start the night off cooking together then turn the tv off an turn on some good music and hang out.

some of the best "family time" spent doesn't cost you a dime. Its not the quality, its the quantity. If you can't find the time, make the time, on simple stuff to create lasting memories.
