It's not the end of the world. You can still date other people. It is just that you have to tell your partner (that you think that you will be with for a long time and you can trust). If you have doubt about the partner and do not fully trust him I do not think you should tell him (words spread out fast). You will be ok.

Good Luck

I'm so sorry, but you've still got my two cents worth of advice.

Don't despair. Most STDs, while in their infant stage can be cured with the proper medicine. Seek your doctor immediately, and let him know that you do not wish to disclose this matter until you are comfortable. Focus on curing yourself, not worrying about acceptance in the society, your circle of friends or your family.

If you have a faith, I suggest praying to God, asking him to forgive you of your sins, make a pledge, repent and promise not to do it again. Ask him for boldness, courage and determination to carry on with life. Ask him to give your 'confiders' an understanding heart, so that they would be able to encourage you.

Then after, look at your list of responsibilities. Top priority after seeking treatment should be limiting your sexual life until the disease is fully cured. Dating is strongly not recommended, although if you wish to, you might do so, but be sure to explain it to your partner. You don' want her building up so much affection for you and then it is all gone when she asks for your hand in marriage that you have to let her know about it.

Next on the list; after you have gotten the treatment, and a sound doctor's advice. (This includes a second opinion- it is necessary to check if they agree with one another on the diagnosis and the treatment) Focus on rebuilding your life. Remember, what is done is done, you cannot undo it. Firstly, confide in either your closest friend or family member. They must be mature and only if past experiences have taught you that they would not forsake you, that you should let them in to this matter. Bring it in slowly, tell them not that they can express any kind of feeling they want to, but they must still love you. Explain to them that you have sought the doctor, the type of medicine he/she has prescribed, and what you plan for the future. Most importantly, convince them that you will never make the same mistake again.

A supportive family/circle of friends should be one in which encourages you, regularly checks on your emotions and whether you are on medication, sees that you are not ridiculed by anyone who knows about the matter. In the rarest event, do you have to seek a support group if your parents are not approving of you anymore. But always remember, if there's a will, there's a way.

Probably wouldn't give up dating, but you should definetly abstain from sexual activity until you are cured and for some unknown reason if you feel as if you just can't control yourself, then at that point you should be up front with the person about your present condition.

Of course not...you should date responsibly.
There are many associations of people with like diseases.
I know a woman who got herpes...she joined a herpes network and ended up meeting man the man of her dreams she would never have met otherwise.
This could be the start of something wonderful for you.
Good luck...be safe, kind and considerate of others.

Dating doesn't necessarily have to involve sex, but if it comes to that, the least you can do is use protection. You would be well advised to go to a sexual health clinic so you know you are talking to a professional.

Ummm, you should get that taken care of and then make sure if you get intimate or into a relationship with someone, you must tell them! They deserve and have a right to know.
