Dogs are pack animals and they have distinct a hierarchy in the pack, which includes not only other dogs but any humans in the household. This dog sounds like the Alpha (leader) of the pack of six dogs, which is why it growls at you but the others do not. Normally the humans are all are above the Alpha dog, as it should be in any household with dogs. In this case, it would seem that you are under the dog in the pecking order. Allowing the dog to intimidate you makes it even worse -- he growls, you back off, he has strengthened his "supremacy" over you... it can become a vicious (literally!) cycle.
You need to talk with the owner of this dog ASAP and get him/her to work with you and the dog to establish that you are above the dog in the pack. If s/he is not willing to do that, I'd move out.

You are being dominated! This dog is the ALPHA and you are on its turf. There are websites that teach you how to deal, ie reclaim dominance, however as this is not your house they could be dangerous. How long do you have to stay there? It would be better if you did not have to deal with this animal. Is there anyway you can board him at the owner's vet? If not do an on-line search and try to stay out of its way. One more thing, never show fear! I know that is hard but dogs sense it and will respond to it. Good luck, remember your safety is more important than anything.

It only does this because it doesn't know or understand your place in the 'family'. Try taking the dog out for walks, or ask the owner if you can feed the dog for a few weeks. When the dog sees that you are giving out the food, they realize that you must be a higher 'rank' than them. Other activities, like going for walks or playing ball, also assert your higher rank and also make the dog more comfortable with you.

This is unacceptable behavior for a domestic animal. Tell the owner about the actions of the beast. A more drastic measure would reporting the animal to the animal control division in your area. Even if it has not attacked you it's threats are dangerous.
Don't fool around with this, if the owner will not do something you need to. Even if it is just not going to that house anymore.

I think you need to consult with the dog's owner and let them know this is occuring. Hopefully, they'll help you establish your position in the pack higher than this dog's.

It thinks it is the dominant one. Are you the owner? If not does the owner do anything to correct this?

I'd growl back at it, and then smack it. It's a pack animal, let it know you're the leader of the pack.
