I would think that spirituality is a more personal thing (like sex) an that there would be some level of intimacy / connection between a pesrson and the spiritual advisor (priest, minister, rabbi, monk, etc)

What's wrong with it? They call it Yahoo! Answers so you can find answers to your questions. Here you have a good forum to ask the advice of many people. I think asking questions of a spiritual nature is way better than some of the other junk I read on here.

Maybe they don't have a Bible.
Isn't it good to debate Christianity and spirituallity in this type of forum.
Some one asked why do athiests come here to yahoo answers spirituality,i think they are curious or maybe God is calling them to seek the truth.
A lot of athiests would never go to a Church or get a Bible.

They turn here, because often their lives are empty, and they realize something is missing. A spiritual quest is a common thing, that most people go through in their lifetime at some point.

People turn EVERYWHERE for Spiritual advice, not just Yahoo Answers. But the number one source above anyone else is the BIBLE> Turn there cuz that's God's word.

actually its within the reader's discretion if he would believe the "answers" they get from this section is true or false. That is why, they have to choose the person who has the best answer.
and also there are a lot of information today (thanks to the internet) which we are not sure if its a hoax or if its true. its another way of segragating useful information/idea.. well thats all

well you don't have to read it when people do. And Jesus didn't have to go to a temple, church, or Oprah when he taught, he went to the people, so people on here try to take Jesus' teachings to the people like he did. Thanks,
Matt

I'm not sure if it's advice, or to start a fight and prove who's right.
There's far better uses of time.
