I do not know how old you are but I think you will find that a person's beliefs are as changing as the seasons. We are raised on what our parents/teachers/community believes but as you grew up you began selecting, modifying, and inventing beliefs to suit yourself. You may have found you disagreed with a life long friend on some fine point. Also, you have likely met influential people in your life that "opened your eyes" to some idea you had not seen before.
As you look back over the continuum of your life you will probably see that your beliefs now are different from the beginning of the journey and it was a slow evolution to where you are now.
For those who convert, some influence of sufficient strength allowed them to alter their basic belief structure. I will bet you that these people did NOT drastically change the nuts and bolts of their morality and spirituality...only the physical manifestation of it. Just remember that nothing is black and white...only shades of grey that shift in front of you. You only have this moment's beliefs to count on, but who knows what you will feel tomorrow.
My marriage is between Hindu and Catholic. Two very different religions yet the services...the morality and message of hope and faith preached by both pandits and priests are IDENTICAL! They both teach the same morality. These beliefs are UNIVERSAL. It is only the ritual associated with the two that are different. I am able to honor my faith equally well in either environment. So I would not be too critical of anyone who converts...if it brings them closer to universal faith then it was a positive change for them.

There are a few ways to answer your question. How could someone convert? You can take on a new religion by simply beliving in its underpinnings and following its rules and traditions. The reason that some one might convert is becasue they have discovered that what they once thought was true is not, in fact, true. For instance, I am not a Christian. However, if Jesus came to me and said, be a Christian, I would. It isn't persuasion that changes one's religion, it is conviction. I don't have any reason to believe in Christianity now. If Jesus came to me and told me to believe, I would have no way to argue with that, and I would become a Christian.

That's the difference between you and them. People can believe what they want but some people's faith isn't set in stone. They could flip flop on a lot of issues or maybe they don't agree with the churches teachings. It all comes down to the person. I don't think I could give up my faith just like that but there are some people who are still trying to figure it out for themselves.

yes but beliefs can change no matter what u beleive, something may happan to someone that makes them quesiton the belief they've had and if the answer to that belief is different and they like that answer then they are going to change to a religion that will support that new belief. you don't want to stay in the same religion if it does not support you new beliefs do you? but some peopl still carry their other beliefs with them it's just that if the dominant one changes then it usually will change the rest of thier thinking as well eg. if i believe that people go to heaven and then all of a sudden someone proves to me that they don't really that they stay in the grave until jesus comes and i go ' oh yes i can see that' then i'm gonna want to be in a religion that supports that

I think many people convert because they were taught the beliefs of their parents. Those beliefs may or may not conform with what a person comes to believe as they they grow and mature into an adult.

As humans we are are naturally curious and inquisitive beings. Allowing oneself to be open to other ideas and philosophies enriches our experience here on this planet. Feeling dissatisfaction and unrest is no way to live. By having a spirtual experience of any kind is a gift and should be embraced not shunned. Finding ones salvation is personal and crucial for happiness here on earth and in heaven. Kudos to those who have found their salvation!

Conversion is an act of leaving your religion to another religion, not forced to do so, basically because of some researches you done.
Or if you find something very confusing in Christiniaty and didn't found an answer to it, you can try asking Muslim Scholars, Jews Scholars, Hindus, etc.

People are generally born in to religion and raised that way as a child. Later, as they grow older they may realize they actually have different beliefs based upon their own education and thought... Therefore, they feel more comfortable aligning themselves with another religion.

The Bible is the authority and when you are shown the truth from the Bible you should follow it. Not all churchs who say they follow the Bible believe or teach the truths of it. They have some truth but when not all the truth. Whenever you are shown light from the Bible accept it and thus sometimes you have to find a church that teaches the truth from the Bible.

Then you faith means nothing for it is grounded in nothing. You should constantly be growing in your faith through learning and questing. Sometimes the learning and questing leads you elsewhere. But if you sit and say I believe but do nothing there is no basis for your belief except the superficial.
