Yes there is a easy one, leg lifts: lay on your back and lift your legs up slowly, then down again don't let your feet touch the ground let them hover for about 3 seconds then go up again, I find this far less annoying then situps , and you get results

You have a HUGE but quite common misconception. Doing ab exercise does NOT remove fat from your abdomen; just as doing curls does not remove fat from your arms etc... It is a physiologic impossibility to "spot reduce" . Exercise of any type simply burns calories, and therefore fat, from the body as a whole.
It may APPEAR that you are spot reducing because a muscular abd looks much better than a non-toned one even with the same amount of fat overlying the muscle.
To sum it up: cardio burns much more fat than resistance training, but all the cardio in the world won't give you a sixpack- for that you need both cardio AND resistance exercise.

Well like they say" no pain, no game".Exercises that target the abs will always hurt in the begining and you'll become sore of course it's normal but the more you keep doing them you'll get use to the pain. Later you wont think about and you won't feel it. do little sets at first (four days outta the week ) then gradually increase them. I started off with 3 sets of 5 then later 3 sets of 7 then 10 , so on and so on .The trick is to do as much as you can stand per day. Hopefully it works for you. GOOD LUCK!

this is hard, but unfortunutely - human. when age, your body change a lot. Do both excercises and alternate daily.
There is no easy way out. Something does not sound right. To an extend ab exercises should hurt, but the way you describe sounds very extreme? Maybe you are doing these exercises in the
wrong way ? Try get professional advice on how to do them and enjoy them. All the best

Do both. If you don't strengthen your abs, this will affect your posture. Also, males are prone to get hernias as they get older...keeping your abs strong helps prevent this.
Cardio, of course, will help burn the weight everywhere, not just around your stomach. It's tough making the effort to stay in shape, don't give up and be out of shape (like most people)!

Ab is the place where adipose tissues are situated, which are responsible for fat diposition. So doing just Ab excercise is not enough , you have to burn those extra fat so u have to do cardio .
There is no need to do Ab excercise if u do ur cardio well thats enough n be abstemious in your diet.

I have one of the great big excersise balls and sit on the edge of that with my feet secure and do situps on that. Ground sit ups seemed to hurt me to, crunches weren't to bad either. But the ball has been the best, it also helped my baby love handles I had.
Walk too, that is what helped me lose 22 pounds in 3 months. Plus eating right.

You cannot target where you lose weight by working just the area in question.
You need to build muscle through out your body, and do cardio to use and work those muscles. Muscles burn fat while static, and cardio burns fat faster than muscle building. But you need both for it to be healthy and effective.

Specific area exercises don't work on the fat. You may strengthen your abdominals but don't forget your back muscles and obliques.
Try swimming, and bicycling and long walking. Good luck.
