angry? frightened? are you kidding me? open your eyes but if you noticed that you are in the USA there are many other cultures here. this is why people naturally segregate. if you were from a foreign country and like everyone's ancestors, unless native American, (but even they did not speak English) there is a very good chance that whoever originally IMMIGRATED to America did not speak English. granted English is widely spoken across the world there are still millions of educated people who don't speak English. so if something to make their vacation or new life a little easier frightens or angers you i think you should move to a small town in the most rural place in England.

If it´s written in English, German, French, Italian - I will understand it.
If it´s written in Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, Romanian, Slavic languages, Turkish - I will probably not understand every word, but I will have an idea what the question is about.
If it´s written in any other language - I won´t understand it - but I know there are always people on here who understand it and who are able to answer ...

So, why should I be angry?

Whenever I see something written in a foreign language I get apoplectic and begin spasmodically beating on the 'report abuse' button... How dare you pretend that there are any languages on this earth other than good ol' English!?

Generally speaking I look it up on one of the internet free translation sites, and then if I know the answer to the question I answer it in English, and include one of the free-translation translations in whatever language it was posted in.

Wanneer ik iets in een vreemde taal schrijf, ben ik werkelijk benieuwd naar de inhoud en betekenis van die tekst. Ik ben ook benieuwd naar de taal waarin het geschreven is.
How do you feel about this? Curious?

I think it is cool and curious to me, just wondering how other people can understand it, or how other people might read it who can't understand it
