think about this- The following infomation relates to before Jesus (may peace and blessing from God be upon him)....Deuteronomy 18:18 "I will raise for them a Prophet like you (Moses) from among their brethren and will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them, all that I command him". ................ Let me make some comments about the above: Christians believe that this is a reference to Jesus (peace be upon him). One important word here is "Prophet". Christians believe Jesus is the son of God not a prophet of God. Another important word is "brethren". If it were Jesus the word would have been "children" because Jesus peace be upon him came from the children of Isaac
rezmo373: Since Ismaaeel peace be upon him was the brother of Isaac peace be upon him, the reference is therefore to the children of Prophet Ismaaeel peace be upon him who will be brethren to the children of Isaac peace be upon him. Again the only Prophet from the brethren of the Jews and the Christians was Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings of God be upon him. - MOHAMED the most commonly used name by our global society today (named by the most greatest man ever)

HELLO?? Why do you Bible Bashers always do that? You guys will take something totally out of context, or write only 1/2 of a verse. Read the next sentence. Revelation 22:16 (in completions) says: "I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the Churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star".
The City of David is also known as Bethlehem, (see Luke 2:1-51) The Birth place of Jesus...Where the Bright Morning star led the way for the Wise men, shepherds etc. to see the Christ Child. Jesus is not talking Lineage, but geographically.
If you people would read the Whole Bible, and not just the Last Chapter...you'd know these things.

Mary was descended from David. One of the interesting things to note when you compare the two genealogies given in Matthew and Luke is how God bypassed a curse He had placed on the main line of descent from David.
Jeremiah 22:30 Thus saith the LORD, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.
This prophecy was given about Jeconiah who is in the Davidic line of Joseph but not Mary. Her line splits off from Joseph's at David's sons where hers comes through Nathan instead of Solomon.
So Jesus was born according to the flesh in the line of David but not in the main line of past kings. However from his adoption by Joseph He also had the legal standing in the line of descent to the kingship of Israel.

No, he was from the lineage of David and that points to Joseph in blood. But Jesus was the adopted son of Joseph so that makes him apart of that family. He didn't have an earthly biological father and thus he was adopted by one. This doesn't point to the reasoning that Jesus wasn't the son of God.

First off... the prophecy that told of the Messiah's coming said he'd be born of a virgin. Now how is that supposed to happen without God's interceding, a miracle from Him? Secondly... the account of his conception simply says that God's holy spirit caused her to become pregnant... they didn't have DNA testing back then lol... so who's to say that God didn't use Joseph's sperm??
Even if that isn't what happened, and Joseph was not the BIOLOGICAL father, Joseph raised the baby Jesus as his own and so was his father nonetheless.

Mary was chosen because she was to be wed to Joseph and he would be seen as Jesus' father. The idea of Mary as an immaculate conception herself is actually a recent one. No doubt loads of people will shout at me about that one but Joseph's lineage is the important fact.

Prepare for the onslaught of the Bible cut and pasters my friend...
You have come across one of the key arguments of the highly educated Jewish scholars who have spent hundreds of years trying to peacefully highlight some of the inconsistencies of the claimed "messiah" points of the New Testament, most notably blood lines.
Of course, how do you succeed in an argument with people who don't read much history on other beliefs, who believe a Bible heavily doctored in the 1600's by Oliver Cromwell is the true word of God? The answer is you can't.
So, interesting point, your question/statement but don't expect any blue-blooded Christian to even understand the significance or history of what you're saying. Just prepare for the avalanch of Bible cut and pastes...

Muslims honor and respect Jesus, son of Mary (peace be upon him and all of God's prophets). Muslims believe that he was one in a long line of honorable Prophets, who taught his people to worship and obey the One True Lord, the Creator. The Qur'an describes him:
He [Jesus] was no more than a servant. We granted Our favor to him,and we made him an example to the Children of Israel....
When Jesus came with clear signs, he said,"Now have I come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the points on which you dispute. Therefore, fear Allah and obey me.
For Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord,so worship Him.This is a Straight Way."
(Qur'an: Al-Zukhruf 43:59, 63-64)
Of all the prophets, Jesus is probably the most written about in the Qur'an. Various stories in the Islamic text talk about his miraculous birth, his ministry, his disciples, and the message that he brought to his people. Muslims always speak of Jesus with respect, and "Issa" (the Arabic rendition of his name) is a common given name in the Muslim world.
The Qur'an makes it very clear that Jesus was a prophet, chosen by God to teach his people, but not associated with nor part of God Himself. He performed miracles, by the grace and power of God alone. He of himself could do nothing -- all of his glory pointed back to the One Almighty God.
Muslims therefore reject the notion of the Trinity that is common in most Christian denominations today. Islam adheres to a very strict monotheism, and considers such a theology to be idolatrous.
Additionally, Islam teaches that God is Merciful and forgives all sins, without the need for a Saviour or blood sacrifice of any kind. Therefore, Muslims reject the idea that all of mankind is "saved" by any one creed or sacrifice. In Islam, each person is judged mercifully by God, Who created us and knows our hearts and weaknesses. While Muslims do not feel that their fate in the Hereafter is "guaranteed" (as many Christians would say), they do not despair -- for the Mercy of Allah is without measure.
In the end, Muslims believe that the message Jesus preached was one and the same as the message that all of the prophets brought to their people: Worship Almighty God, and Him Alone. Have faith, and live your life according to that faith.
