yes they do .... even you are the most beautiful for your mom and your kid will be the most beautiful for you.... it's normal but some mom will show off as they think its a pride to them but its really irritating to others if you behave as though your kid is beautiful.. its better to keep it ourself

Every parent is gonna say that their child is beautiful or handsome, cuz thats what we are suppose to do. you can't let your kid grow up thinking they are ugly. My daughter is beautiful to me and alot of people i know and even prefect strangers tell me that my daughter is beautiful. i think My daughter looks like the olsen twins when they were toddlers on Full House and a few people have said the same thing! Now i have seen some ugly babies and toddlers, but i wouldn't tell the parent that their child is ugly, thats just wrong, cuz their child could actually turn out to be pretty or handsome when they are older!

I would be more concerned for a child who thought that his mum *didn't* think he was the most beautiful child in the world.

Imagine- you're the really fat ugly kid with glasses. No-one at school likes you. When you go home, what would you like your mum to say - "hey onyx, they're right you know!", or "ignore those idiots, they don't know what they are tallking about. You are the most beautiful thing to have ever existed."

I know what I would prefer to hear from my mum, no matter what I looked like.

I don't think they are desperate, but I think you are desperate looking for attention with all the idiotic questions you ask and answers you post. I think that if you truly love your child then you are going to think they are the most beautiful and then it is true to them. Look at it in this way, when we are attracted to the opposite sex, each person is attracted to a different type of person. I may see someone as sexy that my sister thinks is ugly, it is all dependent on your perspective. For those of us who have been in love, it is true that the more feelings you develop for someone, the more attractive they become, so if you have the ultimate unconditional love for your child then of course they will be the most beautiful child ever, it only makes sense that way.

Okay I am going the other way.
Of course every mom thinks their kids are beautiful, but I do find it annoying that every time you talk to a certain person (i have one friend that does this) they have to tell you just how perfect or beautiful their baby is. Yeah she is cute and a good baby..but come on do I have to hear this every single day.

Let other ppl tell you your baby is cute it's a little less conceited.

Funny when ppl get on here (yahoo answers) and say how hot or sexy they are they get blasted as being stuck up, but its ok to say how beautiful your kid is not considered conceited. It is still conceited ppl...it's call projecting.

I have always told my children they are beautiful. Not because I want them entering beauty pageants or feeling superior to others, but because I want them to feel valued, to feel they are worthy.
My mother used to call me ugly, and worthless, as a result my self esteem and self worth are pretty much non existent. Even now when people tell me I am pretty I don't believe them because I am conditioned to believe otherwise.
All parents have a responsibility to ensure their children feel worthy and loved, and if by telling them they are 'beautiful' it helps them feel secure and beautiful, then why is that wrong? As long as the parents recognise that there must be inner beauty as well as outer, I see no problem

Desperate? Not at all. It's normal for someone to feel that someone they love is beautiful. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Sounds to me like you've got issues.
