I had an answer to the question which said I was bordering on ignoant. Why do you think I asked the question. I was obviously referring to the poor people not the rich ones who have fled to richer nations. Are you one of these and really angry with yourself

It's called breasstfeeding. Even with improper nutrition it can be done. Unfortunately in those cases it is the mother who suffers from the deficiencies.
Just think even here in the U.S. - After hurricaine Katrina, how many babies suffered from a lack of formula and fresh water to mix it with? If those moms were breastfeeding they would have been able to continue to feed their child for a few days with the reserve in their own bodies until they got settled somewhere.

breastfeeding actually
nutritional deficiencies develop only after the child is weaned (usually about 3 years old but can happen sooner if the woman has too many babys in a short time)
nourishing a pregnancy isn't a huge problem eather, it does only take about 300 extra calories a day and an increase in fluid intake

Unfortunately they do not have enough nourishment during pregnancy which is why the child is born weak and under nourished. Many children die from the lack of food, water and milk. And they are also not vaccinated against deadly diseases. Its a sad fact and many of us tend to ignore this poverty people are living in.

In the third world child labour is common. An additional child means additional income.Increase in child number means increased income, some children start begging. That is the economics of more children for the more poor.

Well, they're often not. Many women die in childbirth, and many babies die during birth or shortly after. Those that do survive do so in starvation conditions.
The human body is an amazing thing, and able to withstand many challenges. But the infant mortality rate in the third world is staggering--as well as the number of women (girls, many of them) who die or suffer permanent injury during childbirth.

Your questions borders on ignorance.... not all 3rd world people live in starvation. Many of these people lead healthy and natural lives, living off the land, and walking unlike us westerners, that gorge ourselves on processed foods and fold our fat a**es into cars each days.
Many of these people have a healthy and respectful relationship with food understanding that you simply need a little of it to live and don't need to gorge yourselves stupid on it.
Only Westerners increase their food consumption when pregnant, the rest of the world simply get on with it.

Many times they can't. Many born babies are born sick from not getting the nutrition they need from the mother while in utero and if the mother is not getting enough, even her breastmilk wont be good enough once baby is born.
