Assalam-O-Alikum
Good Morning is really short for "Have a good morning". So you are wishing the person to have a good morning rather than making a comment that the morning is good.
Same idea for Good Afternoon and Good Night.
Hello is the simplest way to greet someone and Hi is a friendlier less informal way of saying Hello.
I hope this helps.....

By saying it you show your good feelings to the person you are talking to and wish him/her to have a good morning. That may include a peaceful morning, because most people like to be peaceful. Hello, I think, has something to do with wishing people a good life. Basically, the greetings are a conventional form to express good feelings in a society. You can basically wish people whatever you like - apart from good feelings, it also shows respect to the culture of the people around you.

May peace be upon you is an excellent way to start the day, unfortunately, not many of us can say it or know it.
You know why the rest of us can't greet each other that way, so we say good morning, which I think, for those of us that are not Islamic, probably means the same thing if we really think about what we are trying to convey when we say good morning.
Alaikum salaam

It's just a common way of greeting someone or starting a conversation, it is seen as good manners to wish someone a good morning/afternoon/evening you're not commentating on the day yourself just wishing them a good one
Hello/Hi is the same a way of letting someone know you acknowledge them, a way of being polite and friendly
It really doesn't matter which is said it's the friendliness and politeness behind it that counts

You are wishing someone a good morning, afternoon or night. Not too sure about hello, but hi is either a shortening of the word or it's a call for attention, like hey!

Namaste!
when you say Good Morning you are actually saying ''Have a good morning'' rather than commenting on the day. Hi is short for hello and Hello comes from a shorteded form of Hallowed - it is a form of blessing.

Those were greetings (hello, hi, hola, mabuhay, guten morgen, buenas diaz, aloha, ni hao ma, good morning/afternoon/evening). You could also greet somebody in that way, Sal'am or Asalam Alaikum (peace be with you). All are same. It would make the person's mood good and beautiful.
