There is a small switch on the side of the fridge that turns the light inside off when the door closes. It usually looks like a button.

when you open the door, along the inside of the refrigerator, where the door is hinged, you would find a small knob sticking out. When the door is closed, this knob is pressed in this breaks the circuit for the light bulb and the light goes off since no electricity is passed to it.
When the door is opened, the knob comes out and the circuit get completed and the light glows again

Patient told the doctor " Doctor... GOD is very kind to me... he switches on the light every time i open the bathroom door during the night"

Lol it turns off.When you close the door it presses down a button which turns the light off.

There is a switch, hidden. when the door closes, the fridge pushes against that switch and turns the fridge light off. Like, DUH!!!
