Back when I was growing up in the 1950's, practically all kids were spanked by their parents, and teachers as a form of punishment. If this discipline of this sort were practiced for the last 30 years, or so,I don't think that we would have all the unruly, and undisciplined people we have in America today., and criminal activity would be considerably less.

As a child I was only ever spanked one time, by my dad over some bulls**t.

Yes I have, I also spank my children. The bible is very clear on this subject, "Spare the rod, spoil the child"
It is never done out of anger or to inflict pain and therefore is not abuse

Absolutely! My mom once spanked me in a dept store with THEIR belt off the shelf and then put it back!!! Momma don't play that. As an adult, um, not so much. Once in a while...lol.

I got spanked all the time when I was kid. I am now a well-rounded emotionally stable adult.

No, not that I can remember and no, don't believe in it for my own children.
However, I have had to stop myself just short on a couple of occassions. It seemed like an appropriate reaction but I was lucky enough to control it and not strike my children.
