I understand half of Virgin Atlantic was once sold to a foreign firm. Singapore Airlines, I think. There was quite a lot of talk about it.

May I know what happened since then? Is it still half owned by the foreign airline or did it return to full management by its original owner. Just asking this out of curiosity.

No, 49% of Virgin Atlantic was sold to Singapore Airlines in December 1999 for £600.25 million.

According to CNN yesterday (6/26/06), Virgin Atlantic is "51 percent owned by Branson and 49 percent by Singapore Airlines Ltd."
